Sea Paw And Splash Title

Sea Paw and Splash love fish as much as we do, so we’ve invited them to be our special kids’ mascots.  Watch out for them on your special favourites – like Fish Fingers, Fish Cakes, Fish Burgers, Hake Bakes and Surfers  – and in some exciting upcoming competitions, especially for kids.

Let me tell you a bit about me …
Polar bears are the largest bears in the world and a fully-grown adult bear can weigh 295 kg to 600 kg.  That’s lovely and cuddly - and about as big as 15 nine year olds.

What I like to do …
I like all outdoor sports, especially skating and swimming. Actually, I LOVE swimming. Like all Polar Bears I am a champion swimmer, swimming at a rate of around 10km an hour.  And that’s in sub-zero temperatures!  I don’t think any of the Olympic swimmers would stand a chance against me – and I can keep this up for days!

Here’s an interesting fact for you!  I am not really white.  My fur is really transparent and a sort of baby oil colour… My fur reflects all the snow and ice around me so I look white.  My fur is also oily so it repels water and I dry
really easily.

Where I live …
I live near the North Pole, in the arctic circle, which is one of the coldest places on earth - but I’ve noticed though that my ice is shrinking … or maybe I am getting larger … what do you think?  You can look up the shrinking North Pole to get more information about this.

PS.  Don’t tell anyone ….
I HAVE HAIRY FEET. My feet act like snowshoes and the hair helps me to stick to the ice.

Hi, I’m Splash, the number one side-kick to my buddy Sea Paw. I’m an “Emperor” penguin – and you can recognise me easily by my suave dress style (my coat looks just like a tuxedo).

I am the biggest of all the penguins and can grow to as much as 1.15m and weigh 40kg.  How big are you?  I bet we are nearly the same size!

I live off the coast of Antarctica and the cold weather doesn’t bother me at all – I hang out here all year and am the only penguin that is able to do that.  We live on the sea ice and usually never  come to land.
If you look closely at my orange bill, you'll notice a hook at the end, perfect for fishing.

Here’s something interesting…
Emperor penguins like me keep warm by huddling together, and sometimes we can spend as long as 9 weeks in a huddle!

What do I eat …  FISH!
Like you, I LOVE fish!  And my favourite is … wait for it … squid.  Yours is probably fish fingers, am I right?
